Since starting this journey, I have learned more than I ever expected, and not just about writing itself. Becoming a self-published author has taught me lessons about patience, persistence, and trusting myself, even when I was unsure of what I was doing.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning to let go of perfection. My first draft of any book is never the final version, and that used to bother me. Now I understand that a messy first draft is simply part of the process, not a sign that something is wrong.
I have also learned how important it is to keep going, even on the days when writing feels slow or difficult. Some of my favorite chapters came from sessions where I almost gave up halfway through, but pushed forward anyway.
Another lesson has been learning to celebrate small progress. Finishing a chapter, fixing a scene that was not working, or simply showing up to write on a hard day all count as wins, even if they do not feel like huge accomplishments at the time.
I know I still have so much more to learn, and honestly, that is one of the things I love most about this path. Thank you for being part of it with me.
